When you meet someone new, how much do you tell them? Do nerves make you say a bit more than you meant to?
Try to remind yourself to stay calm and composed; there is nothing more exciting than a bit of mystery. And when it’s your turn to talk, remember that your dreams, hopes and inspiration say so much more about you than your job, education and past relationships (a definite no-no!).
The key is to keep the other person wanting more; keep them wondering about you. And, of course, it’s important to ask questions about the person you’re meeting, but keep it light and not too detailed.
Men especially are often accused of not asking questions. So, men, don’t be shy to ask questions; and, women, make sure you give men space to ask them.
